telephone system

We have four lines coming into our home. The lines feed a Panasonic KXTD-1232 pbx with a Panasonic VPS 50 digital voice mail system. All lines have lightning protection. One line is used for incoming personal calls, one for incoming business calls, one line is devoted to the fax machine and the last line is used for all outgoing calls. The outgoing line is programmed to use the cheapest service available at the moment, which is usually one of the 1010 numbers.
There are 32 extensions, in all rooms as well the barn and the garage In addition, the telephone system pages through a public address system installed throughout the house and outside. This is accomplished using two small Bogen paging amplifiers. Music on hold is provided by a compact disc player which repeats music and messages based on the season of the year
paging plus
We use the paging system for a more than just telephone paging. It is also interconnected to both the Home Automation System and the magnetic sensors embedded in the road. This provides an announcement of guests arriving and departing telling us where they are, pretty handy when your driveway is a half mile long!
