This site is about us - Larry, Blenda, our family and where we live. There are pictures of our family, home, and our wanderings along with pictures and descriptions of our work and interests. We met at the wedding of Carmeron and Joanne Howard in August of 1980 at Sturdevant Pond in Maine and we've been together ever since.

We live on the side of Trask Mountain high in the hills of northern New Hampshire. Larry bought the property in 1972 and moved up here shortly thereafter. The picture below looks due south and was taken in early Spring before all the snow was gone.

Our mailing address is One Indian Trail in Colebrook, New Hampshire 03576. The picture above is of our home. We live across the highway from picturesque Beaver Brook Falls Beaver Brook Falls shown here. While the land is open to the south, we basically live in the woods with the animals. There are deer, moose, bear, foxes, eastern coyotes (known locally as "coy dogs") mice, fisher cats, groundhogs, porcupines, weasels, and all kinds of creatures. We've seen birds from the smallest hummingbird to the raptors: bald eagles, horned owls, and hawks. Nature isn't something to watch on television, it's a wonderful part of our life. We try to live harmoniously with nature - the changing of the seasons, the comings and goings of wildlife - as opposed to defending ourselves from it which makes for a very pleasant life indeed! bear

Well, not always. Our friend at the left decided that he was hungrier than the birds. We had a bit of an altercation, but we finally convinced him to leave the birds alone. Of course this was after he had cleaned out the feeder more than once. You'll note that this happened during the day in plain view from our living room which is just 20 feet north of the tree.

Winters are long and cold. It helps a lot if you like to ski or snowshoe. There is a cross country ski trail to our friends John & Roxy Kaufmann who live on the other side of the mountain. If you ski the trail and live to tell about it, you are eligible for a nice certificate. If you don't make it, well, no certificate.
